RESTAURANT DIY MARKETING PLANS
Turn Passion into Profit
I’ve been cooking since I was ten years old. Mom and grandma taught me a lot about country cooking. Dad taught me how to grill. But I also loved to create media and I was presented with opportunities that took me around the world as a combat camera operator in the military and later, my own media production company as a civilian.
I had some friends over for a holiday meal and they kept telling me I should start a restaurant. At first, I wasn’t interested. I had a media career. Then one of my friends challenged me to put my marketing prowess behind a restaurant concept and prove I was as good at marketing as I was at cooking, despite my awards in the media industry.
Challenge accepted.
I found a small restaurant that was going out of business and took over the space. I created a name that would instantly give people top of the mind awareness, designed my menu, designed my logo, built a website, and started marketing. Once guests started coming through the doors and loved the food I had to keep them coming back. So I developed methods to keep them walking through the doors.
I turned a no name concept from $0 to $1.4M a year in an 84-seat casual dining experience that was only open for breakfast and lunch.
I’ve since sold my restaurant to my little brother so that I can focus on showing other independent restaurant owners how I did it. I started restaurant consulting and quickly realized there’s not enough hours in the day to help the 750,000 restaurants in the United States.
That’s why I created the Restaurant DIY Marketing Plans for fine dining, casual dining, fast casual, quick service, food trucks, and caterers.
