Lucky First Day
Japan TripSo yesterday Jason and I arrived in Narita airport next to Tokyo. Most interesting thing about the flight was probably the stewardesses who all dressed up with make up and bows around their neck. The put a lot more effort into their appearances than American flight attendents. And also none of them were men. I bet there aren`t any Japanese flight attendants.
Narita airport was quite large. Probably larger than O`Hare, but I really have no idea. We got funneled around and I was in no shape to properly assess my surroundings.
While waiting in line for customs, Jason pointed out that he was probably going to be the only red head that we would see in Japan. About a minute later a red head hopped in line right behind us. `Apparently not, Jason.`
After we got out of the airport we needed to find our way to Tokyo, so I asked a worker if she could help us buy tickets to Akihabara (a district in Tokyo). We had intended to go somewhere else, but when she asked me in Japanese where I wanted to go it was the only place I could think of. So we headed out to Akihabara, unsure that we were even on the right train. We asked a series of people to make sure. We asked the right questions, but could only vaguely understand the answers. So we randomly, and luckily made it to Akihabara without missing a train. I don`t know how.
We then had to find an internet cafe and a capsule hotel. I`m writing now from the capsule hotel. More on the hotel later. And the jet lag isn`t hotel later. And the jet lag isn`t too bad yet, I the jet lag isn`t too bad yet, I woke up at 5am. It`s 7 now and Jason is still sleeping.
Sorry no photos yet.
